A special Brisbane Welcome Dinner – filmed by Australian Government Social Services

by Dec 28, 2016

Our last Welcome Dinner of the year in Brisbane was held at Queensland Coordinator Libby Blom’s home. This was a very special day as Libby’s family could be a part of the celebrations and see for themselves what their mum, wife, and daughter has been doing all the times that she’s been away from the family! It was also a special day as our facilitator Anita Hendrie was featured and filmed by the Department of Social Services. The video and transcript can be viewed here.

We also got to welcome two Japanese students on exchange who were initially shy but began to feel relaxed and got on very well with Libby’s children. In the true Welcome Dinner Project tradition, all the participants were satisfied and fulfilled not only with food, but with laughter, connectedness and warmth by the end of the evening.

Here are some photos from the night.
